The “Health City of the Community of Madrid” coming to life with UAM The “Health City of the Community of Madrid” coming to life with UAM ====================================================================== CIVIS Highlights 13\. Juni 2025 The *Health City of the Community of Madrid,* with health care, teaching and research integrated in the same space will now be possible thanks to an agreement between the Regional Government of Madrid, the Madrid Health Service and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. All three institutions are to carry out actions of common interest in the health and teaching fields. ![](/storage/files/highlight-may-2025-2.jpg) ©UAM The agreement talks about the construction of an *"unique environment, guaranteeing the availability of the necessary spaces for the expansion of the facilities of the Hospital Universitario La Paz (HULP) and the construction of a new Faculty of Medicine, which will act as poles of attraction for research and talent to this new healthcare area”.* The expansion of the HULP facilities is set to improve and extend the health infrastructures, which will positively impact health care services and the well-being of the people of Madrid. > *The coincidence in time of the reforms currently being undertaken at the HULP, the Faculty of Medicine and the availability of the UAM plot, constitute a unique opportunity to develop a joint project for the construction in Madrid of an environment that integrates two institutions of reference in Spanish medicine such as the HULP and the UAM”,* specifies the document. The *Health City of the Community of Madrid* is expected to increase especially the research links between the two institutions, connecting them with the industry sector through the creation of joint teaching and research spaces.
